Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller Review
The Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller from Joovy is designed to have an extra wide seat with a higher elevation than other brands. This high seat offers great visibility for your little one so they can better enjoy the view.
Its frame is made out of aircraft aluminum, which is the reason why it’s both light and durable at the same time. In fact, it is quite surprising how it can easily accommodate big kids up to 75 lbs in weight. The stroller itself weighs lighter than other models that can only allow kids weighing up to 50 lbs.
If you have already read some reviews about this Joovy Zoom 360, you may be expecting that this jogger comes with a rain cover upon purchase. This free rain cover is only included for 2014 and older models. However, the improved features of this newer model is a great tradeoff.
Who Can Use This Jogging Stroller?
In this section, we will be discussing the features that relate to who can actually use Joovy Zoom 360. Can your child actually sit on this? Will you be comfortable enough to push this while jogging? Will now be answering these questions and more.
Babies and Toddlers
This jogger can be easily converted to a travel system. You can certainly bring your newborn with you as you begin with your light walks. You will need to purchase an additional car seat adapter, though.
The Zoom 360 is compatible with a number of car seats, including Britax B-Safe, BOB B-Safe, Graco Click Connect 35 & 40, Chicco KeyFit, and UPPAbaby Mesa.
Joovy Zoom 360 is designed to accommodate big kids. In fact, it is one of our top 3 best models this year for big kids, having a maximum weight capacity of 75 pounds. You can be sure that this stroller can grow with your child past his or her toddler years.
The extra wide seat also makes sure that your growing kid can sit comfortably. The seat width is measured as 14 inches. The measurement from the seat bottom to the top is 18 inches. There also ample headroom for a child who is around 42” tall.
One of the major shortcomings this jogger has is that the handlebar does not adjust. The handlebar is positioned at a height of 40 inches from the ground. This jogger is perfect for people with a medium height of 5’6” up to those who are as tall as 6’3”.
If you’re on the shorter side, around 5’4”, expect the handlebar to be at the same level as your waist. The best way for you to check before purchasing is to measuring tape. Measure 40 inches from the ground and see if the height is good for you.
Joovy Zoom 360 is designed to be an all-terrain jogger. It actually well with uneven surfaces like dirt roads and pebble driveways. You can easily push this if you decide to take it on dirt trails at your local nature park. If you’re planning to do you jogging on sand, this jogger works well on beaches too.
How Comfy Is The Ride?
This section discusses the important factor of riding comfort for your child. You may be able to push the jogger easily on rough terrain, but is your baby enjoying the ride? You certainly don’t want to end up tending to your little one most of the time during your exercise routine.
This jogger is equipped with big pneumatic tires, two 16” rear wheels and a 12” front wheel. The air filled tires alone already help to soften the ride on bumpy surfaces. However, Joovy has actually installed additional shock absorbent suspension to give your little one a more enjoyable ride.
As with any other joggers, you can actually lock or unlock the front wheel in place. By flipping the switch above the front wheel, you can lock it so that the jogger doesn’t turn on its own while you’re jogging. On the other hand, allowing the front wheel to swivel offers great maneuverability while walking or strolling.
Joovy Zoom 360 also comes with a free tire pump upon purchase. Although you can use just about any other tire pumps, having one handy with you every time is better.
If your child prefers to sit fully upright, this jogger can offer only up to a nearly upright position. It cannot be adjusted to 90 degrees as it will always have a slight recline. We believe that this is well compensated by the high riding seat, which works very well in theme parks.
Your child will surely enjoy being able to see a lot more. When your little one gets tired, you can actually recline the seat all the way back so he or she can take a nap. Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight’s seat can recline extremely flat, at a full 180 degrees, which is perfect for long walks.
There are 2 buckle straps on either side of the back seat which is used for adjusting the angle of recline. These straps have to be tightened individually, which can lead to the other side being at a different angle. This can be uncomfortable for the parent to adjust when his or her child is half awake leaning back on the seat.
The Zoom 360 has a very wide canopy that keeps your child protected while you’re outdoors. It also has a peekaboo window so you can easily check your baby from behind the jogger.
The canopy can be pulled back completely or it can come forward. However, it doesn’t come all the way down. If you end up running facing the sun early morning or very late in the afternoon, you will have to change your direction.
With the canopy pulled back, a taller child will have the canopy fabric behind his or her head. If the child ends up falling asleep with the canopy pulled back, you will need to move his or her head to pull the canopy open.
What Are The Additional Features and Designs?
In this section, we will be discussing the additional features of this jogger. They may not seem to be as significant as the other factors, but they can certainly affect your overall experience.
Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight is available in 4 different colors. Compared to other brands, you won’t have to worry paying for more for the color you want. They each have the same prices.
Another great feature that Joovy Zoom 360 has is the ability to remove the seat cover completely. You can just hose down the jogging stroller when cleaning it. However, if you prefer deep cleaning the seat, you detach it easily by removing the screws from the frame. This is an option not commonly found in other high-end brands.
Parent Tray & Baby Tray
This jogger does not include a baby or child tray upon purchase, much like the BOB Revolution FLEX. However, it has two mesh pockets on either side of the seat. You can have your child’s sippy bottle placed there or even some snacks or small toys.
Unlike the other popular high-end brands, Zoom 360 includes a parent console or tray. It is not made of hard plastic, but of a durable neoprene fabric which is removable and machine washable. This convenient organizer has a beverage holder on each end and a zippered pocket for your keys and phones.
The storage basket underneath is quite big and has a weight limit of 5 pounds. You can certainly use it to store small items, even small grocery bags. Its unique design keeps you from hitting the basket when running in bigger strides.
However, it can be very hard to use the entire space that the basket has to offer. A steel bar, which is part of the frame, goes horizontally through the middle of the storage basket. This makes it difficult to put even a diaper bag into the basket.
How Bulky Is This Jogging Stroller?
With most joggers having similar features nowadays, this factor can help you to ultimately decide which one to pick. The jogger should fit your vehicle and should be something that you can actually transport.
Folding and Unfolding
This Joovy Zoom jogger folds easily in half. It’s folded dimension is 34 x 25 x 19 inches (L x W x H). It should be able to fit most vehicles. We do recommend that you check the measurements with trunk space to be sure, though.
Similar to the Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger, you can also fold this jogger with just one hand. Perhaps, the best way to understand how this jogger folds is to show it to you through this video below:
Storing and Transport
Aside from its quick and compact folding action, the Zoom 360 Ultralight is also lighter than most joggers. The entire stroller weighs around 25.7 pounds only. In fact, this is lighter than its previous models because of the aircraft great aluminum frame.
This is perfect especially for a single parent, so he or she can remove or place the jogger back into their vehicle with less effort.
If you need more space, you can actually remove the rear wheels easily. It has a quick release feature, allowing you to detach them with just a press of a button.
….And because it’s both heavy-duty and lightweight, Joovy Zoom 360 is simply one of the best everyday jogging strollers that we recommend.
